Alex and I made it in the local paper today for one of our silly joke sites. Right before the picture was taken the phrase "do you want our shirts on or off" was said followed by an awkward laugh from the photographer.

A + K + G

Over this last weekend Alex got married to Kat over in Melbourne. The wedding was fantastic and I even gave a speech. I got a few people asking for me to put it online since they couldn't hear all of it so I included it below. The theme of the wedding was "a+k".
And the picture above? Well the rehearsal dinner was "island casual". I saw one of these Spring Break 2008 shirts and just thought they were the best/worst things ever. I wore one to the party and it just seemed natural to buy a bunch to pass around. So I bought 8 of these ridiculous shirts for $5 dollars a pop and it is by far the best money I have ever spent in my life.

The Viceroy

When CodeJam LA came in March of last year they flew us out to Santa Monica and we stayed in a hotel called the Viceroy. I think I have talked about that before so I won't go into detail on it.
However a few weeks ago I was at AOL as they were going through the expense report for Brian and someone noted that he can't get reimbursed for personal items that he bought.
Then it hit me...oh crap that was me and Alex.
You see when we got into the hotel it was very strange. Mirrors on all the walls (except none in the bathroom) and when we went up to the hotel room there was free stuff in the bathroom! Alex dug into the bath salt by pouring it in the sink while I lathered myself up with some of their fancy pants shaving cream. We threw on two robes and walked over to where everyone was meeting when someone said..."you guys know that costs money right?".
...We do now...
So Thanks Brian! Sorry about that ;)
Smells like Teen Spirit
Alex is on a one man quest to get himself on the No-Fly List via Spirit Airlines and to prove to me that we need Emurse shirts. Point taken.
As much as I love transportation this industry is heading in completely the wrong direction. We need to stop bailing out all the airlines and just let the market decide who stays.
Yes, I know that about 80% of US Mail flies on commercial airlines and if they went bankrupt then the US Postal service would come to a halt as would commerce and blah blah blah. If FedEx and UPS can do...I'm pretty sure the second oldest government agency in this country can figure it out.
More importantly businesses need to learn that consumers have choices and that they work for us. From the CEO on down.
Also that "reply to all" is a bitch of a feature.
Now the only question left is why is Alex wearing a wig?!
What's in a Name
So I read an article about how your last name might effect how successful you will be in your career.
Alvey. Good
Bankoff. Good.
Calcanis. Good
So far so true. Let's see how I do.
Hall. Good.
What about my business partner?
Rudloff. Aww crap.

The Big Guy Leaves AOL

June 1st will be a day I knew was coming but have dreaded for quite a while. Brian has decided to leave AOL/Blogsmith to go full time with his new startup called ComicMix.
To give a little history here is how I started working with Brian. (History O' Blogmsith from Brian)
When I graduated from UCF my plan was to do nothing for three months. I figured most other people took the time to "find themselves" so I could totally pull off a summer of learning how to play video games (since the last one I played was on the original Nintendo). My plan failed when after preparing my resume and talking to Alex about the trouble he was also seeing in the space we decided to launch Emurse.com.
Oil is my blood
Alex and I finally got around to filming our robot dance routine we do while out. Although it didn't look as good with just us two so we went ahead and pulled in two other people. I'm the one in the red...Alex is the one in the blue.
What? I'm serious.
What? I'm serious.
...and a splash of Mango if you know whats good for you
I am not sure when or how this even started but for the last few weeks Alex has been on a quest to order the girliest drink on the menu everytime we go out. Last night it came to a head as he complained that the pink "Sunset Soul" he was drinking was "fucking weak".
No joke here, I just want to make sure I always remember.
