I am not sure if this is something everyone in America has or if it's a Central Florida thing but we have Channel 144 that is NASAtv. It's all NASA all the time. It's
geeky fantastic!
Most of the time you are just watching a map showing you where everything in space is but anytime there is a live feed coming the shuttle or ISS they have it pumped in with the audio. I normally just have it turn on in the background and when I hear someone talking I look over.
During this last mission the ISS ran into some problems with one of the Russian computers that deal with little things like life support and positioning. They took a shot of Russia's command center and you see all these logos for companies vs ours which just has a big American flag in it.
It's strange to see exploration as a business instead of just for the greater good of humanity but I guess thinking back to when people sailed is was the same thing. Of course I'm sure they did it for the chicks no matter what century it's in. That's a given.
But if you are not into NASAtv and instead like MTV then you can check out the
Engaged and Underage blog. How could any of those marriages end badly?
